  • Overview

    Mix and serve drinks to patrons, directly or through waitstaff while bartending. Ensuring that patrons have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service while taking orders, serving food and beverages. Also, removing dinnerware from the table in a timely manner.

    Responsibilities

    Bartender

    • Check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
    • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
    • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, in order to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
    • Serve wine, cocktails and bottled or draft beer.
    • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
    • Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar.
    • Collect money for food/beverages served.
    • Clean bars, work areas, tables, glasses, utensils and all other equipment.
    • Monitor quality of all products used.
    • Balance cash receipts.
    • Lock all cabinets, doors and coolors.
    • Take out the trash and mop floors.
    • Comply with all food safety standards.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

     

    Server

    • Prepare necessary items prior to opening such as salad station and dressings.
    • Stock and maintain refrigerator.
    • Prepare bus pans, silverware, table tents, and other items as requested by manager.
    • Clean and refill sugar caddies and salt and pepper shakers as needed.
    • Monitor food distribution, ensuring that meals are delivered to the correct recipients and that quality guidelines are met.
    • Organize and maintain tickets and ensure all transactions are posted.
    • Clean, clear and organize designated areas of kitchen and dining room.
    • Roll silverware daily based on hotel needs.
    • Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
    • Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
    • Inform customers of daily specials.
    • Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
    • Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
    • Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
    • Comply with all food safety and brand standards.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is helpful in the role.
